Q: How does your electromagnetic-based device work?
The electromagnetic-based instrument is used to collect the electromagnetic signal. The electromagnetic-based instrument is also used to create a very low sound wave (pulse) for calibration of apparatus. When the sound and natural waves move through aquifers the water in the aquifer moves relative to the rock formation. Ions in the water are dragged away from their partners bound to the rock and the electrical disturbance created travels to the surface at the speed of light and is detected by the antenna array. The form of each signal gives information about the depth, thickness and quality of the aquifer and this is used to estimate the likely yield from a water well drilled at the survey site.
The electromagnetic-based instrument is designed specifically for detecting electrical signals generated by natural from ground and also the passage of seismic through layered rocks, sediments and soils. Its design is portable, rugged and simple. The remarkably high signal to noise ratios achieved with the patented design means that productivities are high; up to twenty water well or well sites or more can be surveyed by one operator in a day of work.

Q: Is the electromagnetic-based device affected by electrical interference?
The electromagnetic-based device is never affected by high levels of electrical interference if very close to the test sites but is rarely affected by residential electrical sources even if nearby or high voltage electrical sources as long as they are at least 20 to 35m (sometimes more) away from the test site.
